The Western Farming Systems Project

The Western Farming Systems (WFS) project seeks to enhance progress towards more environmentally, economically and socially sustainable farming systems in south-west Queensland.

It is a project where researchers, interested farmers and funding organisations are cooperatively involved in farming systems research using a combination of rigorous participatory research, development and evaluation methods.

These methods involve farmers in replicated small plot research, commercial scale on-farm research, group discussions and learning and includes computer modelling activities.

The vision of the WFS project is to foster an enthusiastic and vibrant partnership between the farming community and the WFS team by encouraging all parties to learn from each other to improve research and farm decision making.
