APSRU Seminar Series 15/04/05
Presenter:
Professor Ian Morrison
Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Home Economics, University of Alberta,
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
Topic:
"90o of Change: Observations of a Canadian Cropping
Systems Agronomist in Queensland"
Abstract:
Despite major climatic differences, crop production systems in Canada and
Australia share many commonalities, and some notable differences. The seminar
will feature comparisons between agro-climatic conditions, soils and cropping
practices (including brief mention of related environmental issues), in the
grains producing areas of the two countries. The presentation will also touch on
the role of Grower Groups in facilitating applied research and development in
Australia - a model that has no comparable equivalent in Canada.

PowerPoint Presentation of this seminar is available here as a pdf file
